Make Your Own Blog, and Boost your Traffic Quick
Start a Blog
If you have recently jumped on the blogging band wagon and are now wondering what to do now that you have a blog sitting out there on the internet that no one knows about. You must take some time to learn how to increase traffic to your blog. Here are a few simple and effective ways to increase traffic to your blog.
Join Hubpages to Gain an Audience
One of my favorite, and I believe the very best ways to drive traffic to your blog is to sign up with hubpages. If you were to do only one thing to increase traffic to your blog, this is the one! Hubpages is a community of writers who write on various topics, and because we are all one a site together, we brows what other writers are "hubbing" about. This gives you immediate audience, as opposed to writing strait into a blog that know one knows exists. Some very sociable writers here at hubpages have over one thousand "fans" within a few months, and those fans can be led straight to your blog, just by saying something like, "for more information click here." The other writers on Hupbages are gracious and of like mind, and you may find yourself receiving advice and moral support that you could not get out of 10 books. To join hubpages click hubpages After signing up Put as much effort as you can to submit as many hubs as possible, and learning as much as you can about Hubpages. This can greatly increase your web exposure quickly, and bring you to a point of having a regular audience for your blog within 3-5 months. This is how long it took my blog to take off after being here at Hubpages for 2 months.
The Advantages of a QR Code
Another way to drive traffic to your blog is to arouse curiosity. If you do not have a quick response code, like the blue thing to the right of this paragraph, now is a good time to get one. They are similar to a a bar code that is placed on all items in the supermarket. A QR code is actually a pixel bar code that is easily scanned by a smart phone.
If you have not already done so, install a QR code application on your smartphone, and then Google "Make quick response code." There will be many free sites where you may get a quick response code.
Depending on the type of code, it could be led to a video, a website, or a blog, the possibilities are endless.
Killer Ways to use QR codes for driving traffic:
- Put a QR code on the back of your tee-shirt. Make sure it is big enough that people can really see it and wonder what it is. While you are working and running errands people will see the code and will scan it out of curiosity. The Pool Nanny of North County San Diego conducted this little experiment. They advertised by wearing tee shirts with their logo seen here at right, and then switched to just a QR code. After switching, they had more than double the traffic to their webblog. The reason is simply, the ad says it all. It explains who they are and what they do, with a phone number, and there is simply no reason to take it further by scanning the code unless they are in need of a pool service. The code alone drives people crazy wondering what it is. Imagine wandering around town during a lunch break, or standing in line at the supermarket, think of how many bored people you see holding their cell phones in their hand and just trying to kill time. These are the people who will be scanning your shirt, wondering what it is, and If they decide that they like your blog, they will be back for more. Your could turn yourself into a walking billboard, instead of just hoping that people will find you. Anyone who has run their own business understands the value of a free walking billboard.
